India Women vs Malaysia Women: Smriti Mandhana-led India Women entered the semi-final of women's cricket event at the Asian Games 2023 after their match against Malaysia was abndoned due to rain.
After being asked to bat first, India women posted 173/2 in the rain-marred match which was reduced to 15 overs per-side affair. Rain halted play for the first time after 5.4 overs in the India batting innings.
Chasing the 174-run target, Malaysia could face only two balls when rain stopped play again. The umpires this time decided to call off the match. India qualifed for the semi-final on the basis of a superior ranking.

The match has been abandoned due to rain and India Women have advanced to the semi-final as they are the higher ranked team. Just two balls could be bowled in the Malaysian batting innings. The match was reduced to 15-over per-side affair after the first rain interruption during the India innings. India Women will next be in action on Sunday.
