The Indian women's blind cricket team has made history by becoming the first team to secure a spot in the championship match of the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games 2023, following their outstanding performance in Birmingham.
Blind cricket was introduced to the IBSA World Games just last week, featuring an exciting match between England and Australia. When India's women's cricket team took to the field for their first game on August 20th, they showcased exceptional talent all around.

In their opening encounter against Australia, India emerged victorious with a comprehensive 8-wicket win, setting an impressive tone for their campaign. The women's visually impaired cricket squad effectively limited Australia to a score of 59/6 before effortlessly chasing down the target.
Continuing their remarkable form, India unleashed an explosive batting display against England in their second match, amassing a staggering total of 268/2 within the allocated 20 overs. Gangavva H played a sensational innings of 117 runs off just 60 deliveries. As a result, England suffered defeat by a massive margin of 185 runs.
Maintaining their dominant streak in the tournament, India delivered another resounding victory over Australia in their third match, triumphing by an astounding margin of 163 runs.
Having secured qualification for the finals, which will take place on Saturday, the Indian women's visually impaired cricket team is now set for an intense title showdown.
However, prior to this crucial clash, they will face off against England once more in their final league match on Thursday. Meanwhile, in men's competition at IBSA World Games 2023, India is scheduled to compete in the semi-finals on Friday.
Should they emerge triumphant from this encounter, they will square off against arch-rivals Pakistan in what promises to be an electrifying final showdown.
