Indian Cricket in Denial Mode, Baaki Sab Bakwaas!

Indian cricket is really turning out to be a bad loser. Instead of gracefully accepting that our batters weren't in form, the bowling unit has a paranoid dependence on Jasprit Bumrah and there was a lack of mutual trust and respect between 'captain perfect' Rohit Sharma and 'no-nonsense coach' Gautam Gambhir -- Indian cricket is gleefully getting into so-called accountability mode.

The focus is more on distractions like banning families from travelling with the team, carrying personal trainers, secretary and chefs [remember the complaints of stale food being served to Indian cricketers on the 2020-21 tour], a copy-paste of former boss Shashank Manohar's template like performance-based payment - rather than finding the solution to the cricket problem that led to such a poor show in Australia.

Indian Cricket in Denial Mode Baaki Sab Bakwaas

The main and only reason behind India's dismal performance isn't anything other than the way both Rohit and Gambhir interacted throughout the series. With Rohit's whims and wishes, his reluctance to listen in to the coach and creating a toxic surrounding in the dressing room are few of the important issues that led to the downfall, nothing else. The fight between the two was so intense that Virat Kohli taking travelling separately and staying away from the team because of his VVIP status took the back-stage.

Clearly, suggestions to clean up the mess after such a defeat are based on the tip-offs given by one of Rohit's close aides from the team management means that the entire report has to be satanized again.

Otherwise, who would dare to question Gambhir's private secretary in the team bus when he has the power to drop Rohit from playing XI in the Sydney Test match. When the whole team is aware of the fact that Rohit's family won't travel anytime soon because of his young family, so it is natural that a confidant of Rohit, who even told him not to retire after getting dropped from the Sydney Test, may have suggested these remedial steps to distract us from the main issues that led to such a humiliating loss.

Otherwise, how on earth can an insane suggestion like staying away from the family grab headlines? Even the players may not be aware that their families are responsible for the loss to Australia.

Otherwise, how on earth can a report like Gambhir's coaching role to be reviewed after the Champions Trophy can emerge and grab the headlines.

With Rohit almost certain to bow out of international cricket after the Champions Trophy, Gambhir shouldn't live in peace. He should also face the heat and that is what Rohit must be looking at. It's 'Tu Tu Main Main' which continues to break Indian cricket and things are going to get uglier from here. Because Gambhir isn't going to take this lying down!
