Indian cricket lost respected cricket Guru: Niranjan Shah

Rajkot, Aug 1 (UNI) The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) secretary Niranjan Shah condoled the death of Ashok Mankad, who passed away earlier today, saying the Indian cricket had lost one of its stalwarts.

In a release quoted Mr Shah as saying Mankad was a gifted batsman, an outstanding captain and a respected cricket Guru.

An individual who dedicated his life to the sport, 'Kaka' will be missed by every single follower of cricket in this country, he said.

On behalf of the Board and cricket fans across the land, I would like to express heartfelt condolences to the Mankad family.
