Melbourne, Jan 17: Indian cricketers, who are currently in Australia for a limited overs tour, have been "banned" from visiting casinos, a decision taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) top bosses.

The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led side, which is today (January 17) playing the 3rd One Day International against Australia, was informed about this decision after the 2nd ODI in Brisbane on January 15.

According to a report in "The Sunday Express", the decision was taken by BCCI president Shashank Manohar and board secretary Anurag Thakur.

"BCCI took the decision as it did not want to take the risk of cricketers inadvertently meeting the "wrong people", or being seen at a place which could be construed as inappropriate for a national cricketer," the newspaper report said on Sunday (January 17).

"The instruction was relayed to the team during their bus ride from Brisbane to Melbourne, the venue of the third one-dayer against Australia, on Sunday," it added.

Indian players will be in Australia till January 31. After the 5-match ODI series, the team plays 3 Twenty20 International against the hosts.
