Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni or Virat Kohli – Which Indian Player Has Won Most Man of the Match Awards in IPL?

Rohit Sharma tops the list for Indian players with most man of the match awards in Indian Premier League (IPL) history, but Virat Kohli got closer to his compatriot with the player of the match award in IPL 2024 match 58.

Kohli bagged the man of the match award for his 47-ball knock of 92 in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's 60-run win over Punjab Kings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Thursday (May 8).

Indian players with most man of the match awards in IPL

With this latest MoM award win, Kohli took his tally to 18 player of match awards in IPL history, going past Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has won the man of the match award 17 times so far.

Former RCB and Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter AB de Villiers holds the record for most man of the match titles, having bagged the award 25 times followed by his teammate and West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who won the award 22 times.

Rohit sits in third with 19 man of the match awards. The Indian skipper, however, sits on top when it comes to Indian players with most man of the match awards in IPL with the likes of Kohli and Dhoni not far behind.

Rising stars Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad are catching up in recent years, while some current IPL mainstays like KL Rahul, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya also appear on the list.

The aforementioned players alongside the likes of Rinku Singh, Sai Sudharsan, Rishabh Pant among others can catch up on the leaders in the ongoing season and the seasons later in the Indian Premier League.

There are also some greats of the game from the country also in the list for most player of the match awards won by Indian players with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble also among the list. Here is a look at the list:
