In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and support, members of the Indian Women's visually impaired Cricket Team had an uplifting interaction with their sighted counterparts at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
This auspicious meeting included the presence of Dr. Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar, the chairman of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), who joined forces with notable Indian cricket personalities such as Harmanpreet Kaur, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Jemimah Rodrigues, Renuka Singh Thakur, and coach Amol Muzumdar.

The gathering took place after a superb result, as the Indian women's team was engaged in a fierce competition against England in a one-off Test match.
Demonstrating their prowess on the field, the Indian team ended Day One of the Only Test with an impressive score of 410 runs for the loss of seven wickets, highlighting the strength and depth of the batting lineup.
Post-match, the luminaries of Indian women's cricket took the time to welcome and celebrate the success of their visually-impaired colleagues. The blind cricket team had just secured a remarkable victory over Nepal in the fourth T20 of the Fedfina Women's Bilateral Cricket Series for the Blind 2023. This win ensured their dominance in the series, with a 3-1 lead and a final match yet to be played.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, Harmanpreet Kaur, who proudly serves as the brand ambassador for women's cricket for the blind, along with teammates Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Jemimah Rodrigues, extended their hearty congratulations to the blind cricket team.
"Our girls had the chance to sit and cheer for the Indian women's team. When the Indian team hit the 400th run we were there cheering for our team. It was a delightful moment for the Blind Women's cricket team. Harmanpreet was very happy to meet our visually impaired girls and was willing to extend all possible support," Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar said in a statement.

They lauded their counterparts not just for their recent triumph over Nepal, but also for clinching the gold medal at the IBSA World Games, showcasing the prowess of Indian women in the global sporting arena.
