Indian cricket team to leave for England today

By Super Admin

Mumbai, May 29 (ANI): The Indian cricket team will leave for England on Friday for the second edition of the World T-20 Championship.

Ahead of their departure, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said he had a balanced team, which could defend the World Twenty-20 title, which they won in South Africa in 2007.

"I am happy with the balance in our squad. Hopefully, we can defend out title," he said.

Admitting that cricketers were tired after a hectic Indian Premier League (IPL), he said it helped players a lot in terms of exposure and skills.

"When you play so many matches you do get tired, after all it's a human body. But IPL provided us with exposure and helped us to learn coping with the pressure of an international event," he added.

The tournament will start from June 5. India will play its first match against Bangladesh on June 6.

Squad: M S Dhoni (Captain), Virender Sehwag (Vice-Captain), Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, R P Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Pragyan Ojha, Irfan Pathan. (ANI)
