180 Golf Launches India's First-Ever Women's Golf League in Bengaluru

In a landmark moment for women's golf in India, 180 Golf, the country's first women-owned golf company, has introduced the Women's Golf League, the first-ever premier golf league exclusively for women during a press launch in Bengaluru on March 10.

The inaugural edition is set to take place at Bangalore Golf Club across three match days -- March 13, 20, and 27, 2025 -- providing a much-needed platform for competitive women's golf in the country.

The first edition has received an overwhelming response, with 90 participants registering for the league. These golfers have been divided into six teams: Team East West Elites, Team Gopalan Giants, Team Ramaiah Royals, Team Morado Mahilas, Team Raj Infra Green Legends, and Team Sudarshan Strikers.

The league has also attracted participants from across the country, including Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Mysore, and Madikeri, along with a few Korean nationals, highlighting its growing appeal beyond India. Anjali Attavar Santosh, CEO of 180 Golf, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative, stating that the league aims to reshape the golfing landscape for women in India. She emphasized that the vision is to not only create a competitive platform but also build a strong community where women can thrive in the sport.

"Our goal is to make golf more accessible to women while also fostering a culture of excellence and sportsmanship. The Women's Golf League is just the beginning of what we hope will be a transformative journey for women's golf in India," she said.

The league is the brainchild of Tanisha Rohira, Samrudhi Sujesh, Anjali Attavar Santosh, and Hema Priya, who collectively share a passion for growing the sport among women in India. Their vision goes beyond organizing tournaments, as they aim to create a sustainable ecosystem that encourages participation, provides opportunities, and nurtures a thriving golfing community.

By launching the Women's Golf League, they hope to set a precedent for future generations of female golfers and establish India as a strong contender in the global golfing landscape.
