'Main abhi bhi young hoon yaar..' Ajinkya Rahane answers to 'Reporter' Rohit Sharma - Watch

Ahead of the match, India captain Rohit Sharma was seen asking questions to vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane as BCCI released a hilarious interview of the duo.

In the video released on BCCI's social media handles, Rohit Sharma is seen in the opposite side of the camera, as he was asking questions to Rahane, who has given the deputy role after making a comeback to the Indian team in the WTC 2023 Final.

In the video, a crew member asked Rahane how he is going to cope up with the new WTC cycle at his age, to which Rahane hilariously replied, "Iss age mein matlab? Main abhi bhi young hoon yaar(This age? I am still young, man)."

"I will try to fulfill whatever role Rohit Sharma gives me," he added.

Then the camera panned to Rohit Sharma who asked Rahane about his past experiences in the West Indies and how he would advise the youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad - who have been selected in the Test squad.

"My message to youngsters and everyone is that keeping patience as a batter is very important here," Rahane added.

Rohit also asked about how a cricketer keeps focus in somewhere like West Indies, where the atmosphere is generally 'chilled'.

The India vice-captain, who is not that much of a party boy replied, "You have to remain the same wherever you are. Keeping the focus on the ground is important, rather than outside of the ground," he added as the interview got interrupted courtesy of a sudden rain.

India will play 2 Test matches, followed by 3 ODIs and 5 T20I matches in the series.

Ajinkya Rahane will be hoping to continue his form in the West Indies series after a decent outing amid India's WTC Final defeat. The 35-year-old has an excellent record in the Caribbean.

Rahane has scored 514 runs in 6 matches in West Indies over the years, with an excellent average close to 103. The India vice-captain has 2 centuries and 3 fifties and was excellent in the 2019 series, where he amassed 271 runs across 2 Test matches.
