India's preparations for their second match of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup against Namibia have been overshadowed by a fresh injury concern after wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was seen limping during a training session.
A video circulating on social media showed Kishan being struck on the foot by a sharp yorker delivered by pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, raising concerns within the Indian camp.

Kishan attempted to block the pinpoint delivery but was struck flush on the foot, immediately showing signs of discomfort. The team physio rushed in to assess the situation, while Bumrah also checked on his teammate. Despite the momentary scare, the mood lightened slightly as members of the support staff were seen sharing a smile while Kishan tried to shake off the pain.
The extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed, but the incident has added to India's growing list of fitness worries early in the tournament.
India's campaign has already been disrupted by multiple injury and health setbacks even before the competition began. All-rounder Washington Sundar had suffered a rib injury during an ODI assignment and only recently rejoined the squad after completing his rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
The team also lost fast bowler Harshit Rana, who was ruled out of the tournament after sustaining a knee injury during a warm-up match against South Africa. In another setback, opening batter Abhishek Sharma was hospitalised due to a stomach infection and reportedly played India's opening match against the United States while battling high fever, where he was dismissed for a first-ball duck.
Adding to India's challenges, Bumrah himself missed the opening fixture against the USA due to illness. Mohammed Siraj was drafted into the playing XI as Rana's replacement and delivered a strong performance, claiming three wickets in India's win.
Led by Suryakumar Yadav, India are aiming to script history by becoming the first host nation to win a T20 World Cup. However, with fitness concerns mounting, the team management will be hoping for positive updates ahead of their crucial clash against Namibia.
