Bengaluru, April 14: After 8 matches over 6 days in the 8th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 8), there have been huge disappointments from players who attracted big money at this year's auction.
IPL 2015 Special;
Defending champions Kolkata Knight Rdiers (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) kickstarted the tournament on April 8. The Gautam Gambhir-led KKR side began on a winning note.

Though it is too early to judge the performances of players, we will look at the 5 biggest flops from the first week of action
Here are those 5 players who were a big letdown
1. Yuvraj Singh (Price - Rs 16 crores) - Delhi Daredevils
Matches - 2; Runs - 36
Yuvraj, the lef-handed all-rounder attracted a record Rs 16 crores at this year's auction. He was expected to revive the fortunes of DD, who opted to revamp their side for IPL 2015. However, opening 2 games have not seen the old magic of Yuvraj. Do we see a change in the future?
2. Dinesh Karthik (Price Rs 10.5 crores) - Royal Challengers Bangalore
Matches - 2; Runs - 15
Karthik was picked by RCB as their first-choice wicketkeeper. He was bought for Rs 10.5 crores this year. But he is yet to justify that price-tag.
3. Suresh Raina (Chennai Super Kings)
Matches - 2; Runs - 18
Raina, who recently got married, is one of the stars of IPL. He has failed in both the opening games.
4. Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai Super Kings)
Matches - 2; Runs - 17
'Sir' Jadeja had a quiet ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. And now he is yet to make a big impact in IPL 8.
5. Ishant Sharma (Sunrisers Hyderabad)
Match - 1; Wickets - 0 (0/46 in 3 overs)
Ishant missed the World Cup due to injury. He returned to competitive cricket last week against Chennai Super Kings. That re-entry was a forgettable one. He was smashed for 46 runs from three overs and dropped for next game.
Note: There have been other players who did make it big in the opening week. However, we have picked only the top-5 based on their price, past reputation, expectations from fans and other factors.
