IPL 2016: Full list of players released by 6 teams

Bengaluru, Jan 4: Yuvraj Singh, Dale Steyn, Kevin Pietersen, Ishant Sharma were among the big names released by Indian Premier League (IPL) teams ahead of the new season.

Full list of players retained; Team-wise money left for auction

With the deadline for retention of players for IPL 2016 ending on December 31, 2015 at 5 PM IST, the 6 franchises announced their squads before next month's auction in Bengaluru.

Yuvraj Singh will again be in the players auction

Yuvraj, who was bought at last year's auction by Delhi Daredevils for a record price of Rs 16 crore, has not retained his place. He will again be in the auction pool on February 6.

101 cricketers including 37 overseas players were retained by the 6 teams while 61 were released. 2 new franchises - Pune and Rajkot (replacements for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals) have picked 5 players each from IPL Draft last month.

IPL 2016, the 9th edition of the Twenty20 tournament, takes place from April 9 to May 29.
