Dhoni, playing an IPL match for the first time in 10 years as a non-captain, was involved in a fun chat with former England captain and commentator Kevin Pietersen.

As Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) took the field after captain Steve Smith won the toss and chose to field first against Mumbai Indians (MI), Pietersen and co-commentator Pommie Mbangwa were in conversation with Manoj Tiwary, who was wired up, in the 2nd over. (Pune down Mumbai in last over)

First, both Mbangwa and Pietersen asked Tiwary about IPL preparations, his fitness and MI opener Jos Buttler. As the conversation went on, a laughing Pietersen told Tiwary to convey the message to Dhoni that he was a better golfer than the former Indian skipper. Pietersen made his IPL commentary debut this season.

"Mate, can you do me a favour. Can you just whisper in MS' (Dhoni) ear that I am a better golfer than him, please," Pietersen told Tiwary.

"I will do that, after this ball," replied a laughing Tiwary. After the ball, Pietersen urged Tiwary, "Now you have got an opportunity, please tell him."

Tiwary fielding at first slip, next to Dhoni, was quick to relay Pietersen's message, in Hindi, to Dhoni.

"Bhaiyya (brother), Kevin Pietersen bhol raha hain it woh aap se better golfer hain," Tiwary told Dhoni.

A smiling Dhoni was quick to reply to Pietersen. As he spoke into the wireless earpiece of Tiwary, Dhoni told Pietersen, "He is still my 1st Test wicket". There was laughter all over in the commentary box and on the field - from Dhoni and Tiwary.

"It was a referral (DRS), not out. It is wonderful when you get real good people on the mic. You got the players there and you get some great stuff. Well done mate. Love you," said Pietersen.

Dhoni was talking about India-England Test at Lord's in 2011 when he swapped wicketkeeping for bowling.

He had Pietersen caught behind the wicket but the England right-hander used the Decision Review System (DRS) and he stayed on and scored a superb 202 not out. England won by 196 runs.

Despite the DRS reversal, for Dhoni, Pietersen was his '1st Test wicket'!
