IPL 2017: Kieron Pollard blasts Sanjay Manjrekar for 'brainless' comment

Mumbai Indians' (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard was angry at Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar for his 'brainless' comment during IPL 2017 match.

Mumbai, April 10: Mumbai Indians' (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard has hit back at former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar for his "brainless" comment during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 match last night (April 10) at Wankhede Stadium.

On Sunday, Mumbai defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 4 wickets with 1 ball to spare. Pollard could not contribute much, scoring only 17 from 17 balls.

When Pollard was batting at number 6, TV commentator Manjrekar has reportedly made a comment suggesting that Pollard "does not have the brains" to bat higher up the order.

"Pollard does not have the brains to play early in the innings," Manjrekar told a fellow commentator when asked about his views on Pollard's batting position, according to reports.

This comment did not go down well with Pollard. The big West Indian must have heard of this from his team-mates or someone else. After the contest was over, he took the micro-blogging website Twitter, at 12.49 AM IST (April 10) to slam Manjrekar.

"@sanjaymanjrekar u feel any positive can come out of your mouth bcuz u get pay to talk u can continue with your verbal diarrhea ..(sic)," Pollard wrote on his Twitter page in response to Manjrekar. This tweet was retweeted more than 1,100 times as on Monday morning (April 10).

In another tweet, he wrote, "Do you know how I get big so.. about BRAINLESS.. words are very powerful .. once it leaves u can't take it back.. sins of parents fall on..."

He concluded by saying, "U finish that sentence .. !! All in all great TEAM effort .. well done team well done Hardik nitesh krunal youngsters doing the business 👏🏼."

Pollard received support from fellow West Indian fast bowler Tino Best. He wrote on Twitter, "@sanjaymanjrekar how can u say @KieronPollard55 don't have the brains to bat at 3 @KP24 why y'all always beating us down BS GTFOH with that."

"@sanjaymanjrekar @KieronPollard55 @KP24 Don't worry I know how y'all feel about my ppl deep down inside always saying we stupid we don't have sense piss off with that crap," he added.

In IPL 2015, Pollard had taped his mouth during a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) after being warned by umpires. This had led to funny reactions.

Manjrekar is yet to respond to Pollard. Will he?
