IPL 2017: After loss to RPS, Virat Kohli has a message for RCB fans

Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has a message for all his fans after the team's loss to Pune in IPL 2017.

Bengaluru, April 17: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has urged the fans to keep supporting the team and hoped to "dominate" again at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017). (Match scorecard)

A disappointed Kohli blamed his players for not showing enough "intent" on Sunday night (April 16) against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). (Match highlights)

It was RCB's second successive defeat as they went down to RPS by 27 runs, failing to chase down 162 on a two-paced pitch. RCB are now at the bottom of the table with just one win from 5 games.

Speaking after the match, Kohli thanked the "Red Army" for supporting the RCB franchise. He said the players had to take responsibility and deliver the goods that will cheer team's supporters.

"They (fans) have always backed us throughout. Last year was a situation where we needed their support and they were out here (at M Chinnaswamy Stadium) in huge numbers to do that. Once we get things turning around for us, hopefully in the next couple of games, then we can come back home and dominate. We as players need to take more responsibility so that we can give fans something to cheer about," the captain said.

When RCB play at home, fans turn out in large numbers. It was the case yesterday too but had to leave the stadium with lot of disappointment following their side's loss.

RCB's next home contest is against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 25 (Tuesday) at 8 PM IST.
