IPL expert rips apart SRH after 'Logicless' defeat against DC

Sunrisers Hyderabad have found themselves in a deeper slump after the defeat against Delhi Capitals in their latest IPL encounter.

It was a demoralizing night for them at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium as the home side faltered against the bottom-placed team of IPL this season. The loss means SRH are now level on points with bottom-placed DC, and their 9th position is only due to a better net run rate.

Chasing a modest total of 145, they managed to score just 137 - which inflicted their third defeat in a row.

After two impressive wins over Punjab and Kolkata, Sunrisers find themselves in a deep mud and expert Aakash Chopra is baffled by their tactics. He criticized both teams but lamented SRH more for their clueless strategy while chasing the total.

"It was hard to figure out which team won and which team lost. In this game, did Hyderabad lose or did DC win? There was no logic behind the match going this long. They lost the game by seven runs and you had four wickets left. I'd rather go all out by the 18th over knowing we tried, but they couldn't even reach," Chopra said to JioCinema after the match.

"Why didn't this match end by the 18th or 19th over? It's because they don't play with pace. I don't know what's going on, but this is a different kind of chase. It seems they've forgotten how to mount a run chase," he added.

Chopra, however, praised Agarwal's show, saying, "Mayank was the only one who scored runs tonight. He batted well and was aggressive. Forty-nine in 39 balls is still not a bad return. From one side, you keep the team's innings alive and his intent was good."

The only positive for SRH is they will have a swift chance to make amends. Their next match is against Delhi Capitals again as these two teams lock horns in Delhi up next on Saturday (April 29).
