IPL 2023: CSK batter Devon Conway hits 1000th six of this season

Chennai Super Kings opener Devon Conway hit the 1000th six of this IPL season in their match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday (May 20).

Conway came down the ground to loft Lalit Yadav in the 2nd over of the match. The ball cleared the fence and thus the New Zealand batter has rounded off a fantastic milestone. It was the completion of a full circle for CSK, as Conway's opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad hit the first six of this season.

The left-handed batter since has hit two more, while Gaikwad hit 7 sixes in his inning. At the time of this write-up, CSK are 195/2 after 18 overs and looking good to post a gigantic total.

RCB skipper Faf Du Plessis has hit most sixes this season, with 36 to his name. Du Plessis is followed by CSK's Shivam Dube (33) and RCB's Glenn Maxwell (30) respectively. Rajasthan Royals' Yashasvi Jaiswal (26) and Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Marcus Stoinis (26) complete the top five podium.

It has been a six-hitting season of IPL. The average runs are increasing day by day, and so is the average number of sixes per match. Before Saturday's match between DC and CSK, 999 sixes were hit in 66 matches, at an average of 15.13 per game.

The most number of sixes hit in a season was in 2022, when 1062 maximums were hit by all the teams at an average of 14.55 sixes per match.

Midway through the Match 67 of IPL 2023, already 1012 sixes have been hit by all teams. Kolkata Knight Riders have hit the most with 118 sixes, while CSK's Saturday opponents Delhi Capitals (61) have hit the least amount of over boundaries.
