Chennai Super Kings batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has started his IPL 2023 campaign in a brilliant fashion. The Indian player was sublime in the first match of the new season at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, who opened the batting for CSK against Gujarat Titans, scored 92 runs in a fantastic batting display on the night. The batter was the only player over 25+ runs in the entire inning, scoring more than 50 per cent runs of the CSK total of 178/7 at the end of their 20 overs.

Gaikwad took apart the Titans bowling and showed immense class and technique. He was superb with his timing and demonstrated a magnificent display to score 92 runs off just 50 balls, comprised of 4 fours and 9 sixes in the inning.
The 26-year-old thus continues his rich vein of form in the IPL. He scored 368 runs for CSK last season and was the highest scorer in the team in a disappointing season, where the Yellow army finished second from the bottom.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has continued his run-scoring prowess against Gujarat Titans. This was Gaikwad's 3rd half-century against the defending Champions in 3 innings. He scored 73 and 53 last year against the same opposition, but both his innings came in losing cause as CSK were defeated by Titans in both occasions.
With his magnificent 92 runs, Gaikwad has surpassed India legend Sachin Tendulkar. The CSK batter now has 1299 IPL runs after 37 innings, while the great man had 1271 runs after his first 37 innings.
Gaikwad is the 4th highest run-scorer after his first 37 innings in the IPL and has bettered the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the particular column.
