CSK vs RR, IPL 2023: 4 Bowlers Who Will Take Most Wickets In Today's Match

CSK vs RR: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match number 17 of the IPL 2023 on Wednesday, April 12. Both the teams have won two matches and lost a match each so far in the tournament.

CSK lost the tournament opener against Gujarat Titans (GT) before bouncing back with wins against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI). RR, on the other hand, won their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) before suffering a 5-wicket defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS). They defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last match.

Ahead of the two sides first encounter against each other in the IPL 2023, let's have a look at four bowlers who can end up with most wickets in the match.

Moeen Ali: The England left-arm spinner is expected to be back in the playing eleven after missing the match against Mumbai Indians (MI) due to flu. Bowling for the first time in the IPL 2023, Moeen took four wickets to derail LSG's batting line-up at the same venue last week.

Moeen's matchup against southpaws Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shimron Hetmyer would be intriguing. Both these batters are in excellent form but will have to face the tough task of passing the spin test at Chepauk.

Ravindra Jadeja: Moeen's spin partner Ravindra Jadeja shined in the match against Mumbai Indians. The left-arm pacer struck thrice to put brakes on the innings of MI. He got the big wickets of Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green and Tilak Varma.

He looked off-coloured in the first two matches and picked just one wicket. Looks like the 34-year-old has got his rhythm back and stopping him at spin-friendly Chepauk will be a task for Rajasthan.

Ravichandran Ashwin: The veteran off-spinner has shown nothing but class in his first three matches of the season. The third match at his home ground in Chennai will just be another opportunity for fans to see the guile of Ashwin - the local boy and also the former player of CSK.

RR played their last two matches in Guwahati where the bowlers except for Ashwin had an extremely tough time. Ashwin bowled his full quota of four overs in both the matches and leaked only 25 runs on both the occasions. He also picked three wickets across the two matches.

He has played a total of 40 matches at the venue and picked 46 wickets at an average of 20.02 and an economy of 6.07.

Yuzvendra Chahal: The leg-spinner's IPL record in Chennai isn't excellent. He has picked just four wickets in five matches. He would be aiming to better the stats this time around.

Currently, Chahal is the second-leading run-scorer in the IPL 2023. He has picked eight wickets in three matches at an average of 11.75. In the last match against DC, he picked three wickets for 27 runs.
