'Don't you ever say sorry....': Delhi Capitals coach Ponting tells Indian bowler in front of Sourav Ganguly

Delhi Capitals are currently going through a horrible period. They have lost five matches in a row and are rooted at the bottom of the table.

And amid this, Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting delivered a strong message to India's bowling star during a dressing room speech in front of Sourav Ganguly.

Delhi slumped to their 5th defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday (April 15). It was a disappointing outing yet again as the David Warner-led side failed to make an impact with the bat again.

Rishabh Pant's absence has been significant and the team hasn't been able to play as a unit. Hence despite individual brilliances, the DC team have suffered a harsh fate so far in IPL 2023 and find themselves in deep trouble, with nothing to show for after five games.

They have lost matches comprehensively. Apart from the Mumbai Indians match, none of their matches have come close as DC have conceded games with either overs to spare or by more than 20 runs.

Amid the current catastrophic situation, Ricky Ponting still seemed unfazed and motivated the team after their loss to RCB, and then gave a strong message to Kuldeep Yadav. The Indian chinaman spinner bowled extremely well in the last match and picked up 2 wickets for just 23 runs.

"Kuldeep, where are you mate? Disappointed last game, weren't you? You actually said sorry to me at the end of the game. So mate, don't you ever say sorry to me or anyone for what happens on the cricket field. What I want you to do is bounce back strong and today with 2/23 off four, it was an outstanding spell of bowling. Well done," Ponting said with Sourav Ganguly in attendance.

Kuldeep had gone for 23 runs in 2 overs against Mumbai Indians, and his considerable improvement is something DC will bank on.

The Capitals will be up against Kolkata Knight Riders in their next match on Thursday. It will be a familiar clash for Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting - who both played for KKR during their playing days in IPL.
