IPL 2023: Marco and Duan - Jansen brothers are First Twins to play in IPL

Duan Jansen made his debut against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday in the IPL. And as the Mumbai Indians player plays his first match, it is a little piece of history for the IPL.

Duan making his debut in IPL meant Jansen brothers became the first twins in history to play IPL cricket. Brothers have represented or still represent different IPL franchises, but it is the first time twin brothers will be playing in an IPL season.

Duan Jansen was roped in by Mumbai Indians, while his older brother Marco Jansen plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Marco has also made a fantastic start to his IPL 2023 campaign, as the Proteas player has picked up 5 wickets in the two matches that he has played.

Marco Jansen has represented South Africa in senior-level international cricket, but Duan is yet to play for his country at the senior level.

Along with Duan Jansen, Arjun Tendulkar also made his debut for MI on Sunday. Arjun, son of the great Sachin Tendulkar now becomes the first father-son pair to play for the same franchise in IPL.
