IPL 2023 Final: It's currently raining in Ahmedabad and the covers have been brought on. It started with a drizzle before getting heavier. Notably, the IPL 2023 final can commence as late as 10.10 pm without any overs being lost.

There is a reserve day in store tomorrow (Monday). It will be used only if a minimum of 5-over game cannot be played today (Sunday, May 28). 10:10 PM is the cut-off for a full 20-over match. 12:26 PM is the cut-off for the 5-over game

Ahmedabad weather is likely to play spoilsport in the IPL 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, May 28.

IPL 2023 FINAL Rain Updates

11:00 PM: It's Official guys. The play has been postponed in Ahmedabad due to a wet outfield. The match referee Javagal Srinath and umpires have informed the coaches of both the teams that match has been shifted to the reserve day on Monday (May 29).

10:10 PM: It continues to pour in Ahmedabad and the covers are ON at Narendra Modi Stadium. The rain is playing hide and seek at the venue and the fans continue to wait with bated breaths for the rain gods to ease.

10:35 PM: The officials have flashed a message on the giant screens for the fans to keep their tickets intact in case the match gets postponed to the reserve day.

10:40 PM: 12:06 AM is the cut-off time but rain has to stop by 11 PM to have a game tonight. So, we are 30 minutes away from going to reserve day tomorrow: Umpire Rod Tucker.

With the precipitation level close to 60 per cent, thunderstorms and rain has been predicted from 6 PM. 50 per cent chance of rain throughout from 6 PM to 9 PM. It would drop to 30 per cent from 10 PM to 2 AM.

According to AccuWeather, there will be cloud cover of 70 per cent between 8 PM to 10 PM. The humidity level will hover around 60 to 70 per cent after 7 PM.

While GT are looking to win their second IPL title in as many attempts, CSK are eyeing their fifth IPL title which will take them at par with Mumbai Indians (MI).

Widely being advertised as the battle between the 'Mentor and the Apprenrtice' (Dhoni vs Hardik), the high-octane clash could very well be Dhoni's last as a professional cricketer. Even though he hasn't confirmed anything, it is being widely speculated that the IPL 2023 season is Dhoni's last as a player.

Hardik's GT defeated CSK by five wickets in the IPL 2023 opener in Ahmedabad. CSK then returned the favour by beating GT by 15 runs in the Qualifier 1 in Chennai. Gujarat have won each of their last three matches in Ahmedabad.
