Chennai Super Kings fans celebrated their fifth IPL title win through the morning after MS Dhoni-led side defeated Gujarat Titans in a nail-biting final with Ravindra Jadeja hitting a boundary to win the title in Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match saw Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and the four off the last two deliveries by Mohit Sharma, who earlier put Gujarat Titans in a winning position by dismissing MS Dhoni for a golden duck. The final also saw a man-of-the-match performance by Devon Conway to build a strong foundation for a big chase of 170 runs in 15 overs.

Noor Ahmad saw his 2/17 spell laid to waste as well after B Sai Sudharsan left his mark in the final with a knock of 96. His brilliant innings came after Wriddhiman Saha became the oldest to score a half-century in an IPL final.

After the match, Ajinkya Rahane said: "Really enjoyed it. Credit goes to CSK management and Mahi bhai. They said they would back me completely if I got an opportunity, and told me what my role was before the season.

"They did not interfere at all and the freedom which CSK gives is massive. Really happy with the way I batted. This is really special.

"Great character to have, very intense, very hard-working, great team man I would say. The knock he played today was really really special. Very happy for him."
