'Almighty has been benevolent..': Mohammed Kaif makes huge remark on IPL Champions

Former India player Mohammed Kaif says the almighty has been benevolent on IPL franchise Gujarat Titans as they have someone like Rashid Khan in the team.

The defending champions Gujarat Titans are on course for the IPL 2023 playoffs. They are currently sitting at the top of IPL table and are aiming to finish in the top two spots with a couple of games of the regular league phase to go.

In their last match, they suffered a defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians. MI scored 218 runs and the Titans could manage 191 runs in reply. But it was Rashid Khan who took them that far.

Struggling at 103/8, the Titans were staring at a massive defeat, but the Afghan went berserk in the last few overs to take them that close. Rashid, along with Alzarri Joseph added 88 runs for the 9th wicket, and the former scored 79 of those 88 runs.

He remained unbeaten on 79 off just 32 balls, showcasing a batting blitzkrieg against the MI bowlers. The fabulous knock had 3 fours and 10 sixes in it. And that's not all. Earlier, Rashid also picked up 4 wickets with the ball. He finished with figures of 4/30 in his allotted quota of four overs.

The 24-year-old was unfortunate to end up in the losing side, but former India player Kaif heaped praises on him after the match.

"Gujarat Titans are lucky to have a player like Rashid Khan. He isn't just a special bowler but also a good batter. He never gives up. Almighty has been benevolent on GT as they got a world-class cricketer in Rashid," Kaif said while speaking with Star Sports.

IPL expert and commentator Harsha Bhogle was also in awe of Rashid's brilliance. He took to Twitter and said the Afghan can become omnipotent soon.

"Soon, there will be nothing that Rashid Khan cannot do," Bhogle tweeted.

Rashid has been having a stellar season with the Titans. He has picked up 23 wickets with the ball and sits on top of the Purple Cap leaderboard. With 95 runs with the bat so far, this is also Rashid's most productive season with bat as wel.
