IPL 2023: List of Highest Run Chases after Mumbai Indians Big Win Over Punjab Kings

Mumbai Indians pulled off the joint third-highest run chase of IPL history as they trotted to a 215-run target by the penultimate over of the match against Punjab Kings in Mohali on Wednesday. We take a look at the list of the highest run chsae in IPL history but before that further details on the game.

Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav were the stars of the chase as the Indian batting duo scored 75 and 66 runs respectively. Rohit Sharma's lean patch continued as he was out for a duck while Tim David (19*) and Tilak Varma (26*) finished off the job with 11 balls to spare. Ishan Kishan was awarded man of the match for his batting efforts.

Punjab Kings' star bowler from the prior head-to-head, Arshdeep Singh gave away 66 runs in 3.5 overs while Sam Curran conceded 41 runs in three overs. Nathan Ellis took two wickets for 34 runs and Rishi Dhawan was economical with a spell of 1/20.

Earlier batting first, Liam Livingstone set the match off to a fiery start with an innings of 42-ball 82, laced with four sixes and seven fours. Jitesh Sharma remained not out on 49 runs off 27 balls. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored 20-ball 30 up the order while Matthew Short added 27.

Piyush Chawla continued his wicket-taking run for MI with a spell of 2/29 while Jofra Archer had a field day, giving away 56 runs in four overs. Young pacer Arshad Khan proved expensive too with a 1/48 spell while Uttarakhand pacer Akash Madhwal had a bad start to his IPL career with a spell of 0/37 (3 overs).
