KKR vs GT, IPL 2023: 4 Bowlers Who Will Take Most Wickets In Today's Match

KKR vs GT: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in match number 39 of the IPL 2023 at the Eden Garden in Kolkata on Saturday. Hosts Kolkata are currently occupying the seventh spot in the 10-team table after just three wins in eight matches.

On the other hand, defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) are placed second behind Rajasthan Royals (RR) and ahead of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at third. Each of the three teams have won 10 points, however, GT has played a match less.

Gujarat have won their last two matches, while Kolkata won their last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 21 runs to break their four match losing streak. The win is expected to boost their confidence in the upcoming match.

As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the second time in the IPL 2023, let's have a look at four bowlers who can end with maximum wickets in the match.

Varun Chakravarthy: The 31-year-old leg-spinner was adjudged Player of the Match in his last match against RCB. He picked three wickets - Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik - to break Bangalore's backbone and register bowling figures of 3/27 in four overs.

Chakravarthy is currently the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2023. He has 13 wickets in eight matches at an average of 18.38 and an economy rate of 8.05. His strike rate is an excellent 13.69.

Suyash Sharma: The leg-spinner has been the biggest surprise package of IPL 2023. The 19-year-old has picked five wickets in his last five matches including two against RCB in the last match and is high on confidence.

In his last outing against Gujarat, Suyash could manage only one wicket for 35 runs. He would be aiming to better his record in his second outing against the team. Overall, he has picked nine wickets at an average of 21.66 and an economy rate of 8.12.

Rashid Khan: The star all-rounder is currently the Purple Cap holder in the IPL 2023. He has picked 14 wickets at an average of 16.14 and an economy of 8.07.

In his last outing against KKR, the Gujarat vice-captain picked three wickets for 37 runs. Overall, he has played 14 matches against KKR and picked 17 wickets at an average of 21.58 and an economy rate of 6.79.

Mohammed Shami: The star India pacer is the second-highest wicket-taker for Gujarat currently. He has played seven matches and picked 10 wickets at an average of 20.30 and an economy rate of 7.51.

In his last outing against KKR, he gave away 28 runs in four overs and picked the wicket of Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Overall, he has played 13 matches against KKR and picked 13 wickets at an average of 30 and an economy rate of 7.80. Shami, who plays for Bengal in domestic cricket, has a vast experience of playing at Eden Gardens.
