Kolkata Knight Riders will host Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 9 of IPL 2023 on Thursday (April 6) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata as the two-time champions play at the venue for the first time since 2019.
Nitish Rana-led Kolkata Knight Riders will look to bounce back after suffering defeat in their campaign opener against Punjab Kings, while Faf Du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to carry on the winning momentum after beating Mumbai Indians at home.

In KKR's season opener, Varun Chakravarthy, Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee and Sunil Narine were among the wicket-takers. For RCB, Mohammed Siraj, Reece Topley, Akash Deep, Michael Bracewell, Karn Sharma and Harshal Patel claimed wickets.
As for team news for bowlers, RCB are likely to miss the services of Topley, who hobbled off the field on Sunday (April 2) with a dislocated shoulder. KKR may be without Lockie Ferguson, who is a fitness concern.

Here are four names who can star for their team with the ball in the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore and take the most number of wickets.
Umesh Yadav (KKR): The Indian pacer is likely to continue his domination in the powerplay on the wickets in Kolkata, which has offered seam or pace bowlers assistance in the most recent T20I at the venue. Umesh bowled well in the opener conceding just 27 runs for 1 wicket.
Mohammed Siraj (RCB): A pacer who has been transformed since the end of last year, Siraj is likely to continue his form from the season so far. He bowled very well in RCB's opening match, conceding just 5 runs inside the powerplay along with a wicket.
Varun Chakravarthy (KKR): The mystery spinner, who started the season well with figures of 1 for 26 in 4 overs against PBKS, will once again be a threat to the RCB batters, but that depends on the kind of surface prepared for the day.
Karn Sharma (RCB): Sharma stepped up to fill a void left by Wanindu Hasaranga in RCB's 11. He ended with figures of 2 for 32 and is likely to add to the wicket column if the Eden Gardens prepare a track to assist their own slower bowlers.
Apart from the four, KKR's Tim Southee and Sunil Narine will also be among the wickets alongside RCB's Shahbaz Ahmed and Akash Deep, who are more accustomed to the pitches at the Eden Gardens.
