As per the latest weather update on Cyclone Mocha, a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal intensified into a cyclonic storm on Thursday morning. The centre of the storm laid about 510km west-southwest of Port Bair, reported Times Now. As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), Cyclone Mocha is expected to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by midnight.

The cyclone is expected to make landfall between Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar and Myanmar's Kyaukpyu on Sunday while IMD has advised the fishermen of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to avoid sea till May 13.

As far as Kolkata is concerned, Cyclone Mocha's impact on the city is forecasted to be limited as the cyclone veers away to Bangladesh and Myanmar. However, light rain is expected in parts of Kolkata but it's unlikely to impact the game as the rain is not forecasted before Wednesday.

Kolkata will continue to face scorching heat and high humidity till then as the temperature on Thursday will fluctuate between 38 to 27 degree Celsius. By the time the match starts in the evening, the temperature will drop to 28 degree Celsius with partial cloud cover while the wind will blow at 17km/h from the south direction.
