IPL 2023: KKR's Litton Das leaves team due to Family Emergency, flies back to Dhaka

Kolkata Knight Riders will be missing Bangladesh wicketkeeper Litton Das for the upcoming matches as the Bangladesh keeper has flown to Dhaka to deal with some family emergency.

"He had a family medical emergency for which he had to fly back to Dhaka this morning. There is no update on his return yet," a team official said to PTI.

The 28-year-old, who was bought by KKR at his base price of Rs 50 lakh at last year's auction, was dropped after playing just one match against Delhi Capitals.

Opening the batting with Jason Roy, Das (4) fell cheaply and also capped a forgettable outing as wicketkeeper as he missed two stumping chances which proved decisive in the end. DC went on to win the match by four wickets to end their five-match losing streak.

Litton is one of the two Bangladeshi players that KKR signed this season. Another acquisition, Shakib Al Hasan has already decided to leave himself out of the IPL citing international commitment and family reasons.

It is to be seen how long Litton will be absent. KKR play defending champions Gujarat Titans in their next match on Saturday (April 29). The Knight Riders ended their four-match losing streak with a victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday (April 26).
