The sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League - IPL 2023 is all set to start with the league phase on Friday (March 31) and is expected to conclude with the playoffs in the final week of May.
Like last season, IPL 2023 will also see ten teams compete in 14 double round-robin matches with the top four teams at the end of the league stage heading into the playoffs round.

The IPL 2023 playoffs will feature four matches like the previous editions, starting with the qualifier 1 followed by the eliminator, then the qualifier 2 and the all important final.
The top two teams will have an advantage as they enter qualifier 1, which sees the winner head directly to the final and the loser get another shot as they will face the winner of the eliminator (3rd Place vs 4th Place) in the qualifier 2 to reach the final.
A total of 74 matches will played for over nearly two months across twelve venues as IPL 2023 sees the return of the traditional home and away format for the first time since 2019.
Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be the ten teams competing in IPL 2023.
