
Lucknow Super Giants have unveiled a brand new jersey ahead of the IPL 2023 on Tuesday (March 7).
The Lucknow-based franchise, owned by Sanjeev Goenka's RPSG group, was one of the two new franchises that came into the IPL last season. The RPSG group bought the Lucknow-based team for a whopping INR 7090 crore. They did well last season, finishing 3rd in the league table after the group stages.
And ahead of the new season, the franchise has unveiled a new jersey to perhaps propel their fortunes. Captain KL Rahul was present at the unveiling while other players like Deepak Hooda, Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan were also present. Apart from that, mentor Gautam Gambhir and owner Sanjeev Goenka also attended the function.
Unlike their previous sky blue jersey colour, the new LSG jersey is a dark blue coloured kit with a tinge of orange and green across the front.
LSG will be playing their first match in IPL 2023 at their home ground for the first time, when they take on Delhi Capitals on April 1 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
They went on to buy Nicholas Pooran in the auction as they splashed a humongous INR 16 crore for the West Indies southpaw. Apart from Pooran, they also went on to buy Jaidev Unadkat, Amit Mishra, Romario Shepherd in the auction.
