IPL 2023, MI vs CSK: 4 Players Who Will Score Most Runs In Today's Match

Mumbai Indians are up against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede in the El Clasico of IPL 2023 encounter on Saturday (April 8). Both the IPL giants occupied the bottom two places of the IPL table last year.

Mumbai Indians lost their first match against RCB while Chennai Super Kings overcame Lucknow Super Giants in their last match after the opening-day defeat against Gujarat Titans. MI and CSK both have some top-notch batters in their squad.

The small size of the Wankhede stadium and the abundance of power hitters in both teams indicate the possibility of runs galore in the match.

MI vs CSK IPL 2023 Predicted Playing 11

MI playing 11 vs CSK: Rohit Sharma (C), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Cameron Green, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Nehal Wadhera, Kumar Kartikeya, Piyush Chawla, Jofra Archer, Jason Behrendorff

CSK playing 11 vs MI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Ben Stokes, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (C), Shivam Dube, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Rajvardhan Hangargekar

MI vs CSK, IPL 2023: 4 Players Who Can Score the Most Runs in the Match

Here are the names who may top the run-scoring chart at the end of the match between the two sides-

Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK): Ruturaj Gaikwad has made a sublime start to the IPL 2023 campaign and holds the Orange Cap for now. The CSK opener has 149 runs after the first two innings.

He has showcased his brilliant batting skill in the matches so far, and played a blinder in the opener against the Titans. Against Mumbai, Gaikwad will have the added impetus to score as he would be raring to go against the likes of Jofra Archer and Jason Behrendorff in the MI bowling unit.

Ruturaj Gaikwad

Suryakumar Yadav (MI): Suryakumar Yadav's off form is supposed to end at some time. His immense shot-making around the ground and devastating batting haven't been on display for a long time.

But against Chennai Super Kings, things can change. Surya, aka SKY, always relishes challenges and can kickstart his IPL 2023 with a big score against CSK.

Moeen Ali (CSK): Moeen Ali spun his way through the Lucknow batting lineup in the last match. The England all-rounder picked up 4 wickets in the match, but it may be his turn with the bat in this match.

Moeen is a superb player of both pace and spin and would be key to countering someone like Jofra Archer in the MI bowling. Hence the veteran may well be needed with the willow and he often delivers when in demand.

Rohit Sharma (MI): Rohit Sharma's record against Chennai Super Kings is not that great. The MI captain averages 27.5 against MS Dhoni's team and has scored 770 runs in 31 innings.

But his record at home for MI is excellent and the player will be banking on that against CSK. With the class that Rohit possesses, a big inning looks on the cards and CSK can feel the Sharma power. Hence he is tipped to score big in front of the home crowd on Saturday.
