MI vs PBKS, IPL 2023: 4 Batters Who Will score Score Most Runs In Today's Match

MI vs PBKS: Mumbai Indians (MI) will host Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. The action will kick off from 7:30 PM IST. Mumbai have won three consecutive matches on the bounce after losing their first two matches.

Punjab have won and lost three matches each. They won their first two matches before losing two on the trot. The side played under Sam Curran in their last two matches. They suffered a 24-run defeat against the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday.

As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the first time in the IPL 2023, let's have a look at four batters who can score most wickets in the match.

Rohit Sharma: The Mumbai Indians captain has looked in fine touch in his last few outings. He smashed 65 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) before scoring 20 off 13 (one four and 2 sixes) against KKR and then 28 off 18 (six fours) against SRH.

On Saturday, he could aim to spend a longer duration in the middle. In the IPL 2023, he played five matches and scored 135 runs at a strike rate of 136.36. The 'Hitman' has played 28 matches against Punjab and scored 768 runs at an average of 33.39 and a strike rate of 139.89.

Suryakumar Yadav: Another MI star who would be hoping to score big against Punjab is Suryakumar Yadav. He scored 43 in his last home match at Wankhede off just 25 balls. However, he was again dismissed for a single-digit score in his last outing against SRH.

On Saturday, he will be seeking another opportunity to bounce back to form. Punjab's bowling is not one of the strongest in the IPL 2023. He has played 18 matches against PBKS and scored 304 runs at a strike rate of 143.39 and an average just over 21.

Liam Livingstone: The hard-hitting England batter played his first match of the IPL 2023 season against RCB on Thursday. However his stay in the middle lasted for just four balls (for two runs) as Mohammed Siraj trapped him in front of the stumps.

Livingstone is expected to play a big role in the revival of a struggling Punjab unit. His two outings against Mumbai are forgettable ones as he has managed just three runs from them. But regardless, he will be a batter to watchout for today.

He has played 24 IPL matches and scored 555 runs at an average of 26.24 and a strike rate of 165.47.

Shikhar Dhawan: The Punjab captain hasn't featured in his side's last two matches due to a shoulder injury. But he would be hoping to take the field against Mumbai. So far in the season, Dhawan has been a standout performer for his team with the bat.

His tally of 233 in four matches is 100 more than second-highest run-scorer from the team. Dhawan also has an excellent record against Mumbai. He has scored 871 runs at an average of 39.59 and a strike rate of 127.71 in 27 matches against them.
