Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Shami has found himself at the summit of a unique milestone after his fantastic bowling performance against Delhi Capitals on Tuesday (April 4).
The Titans bowler was a tad expensive, but picked up 3 wickets in the match and now has 5 wickets in this IPL 2023 season so far. But his 3rd wicket against the Capitals has made him at the top of another leaderboard in IPL.

Mohammed Shami has now surpassed Jasprit Bumrah to become the highest wicket-taker among Indian pacers in IPL since 2019.
The Indian spearhead now has 83 IPL wickets to his name, surpassing Jasprit Bumrah's 82 wickets. Bumrah is ruled out of this IPL season with a back injury. The third name in the list is far behind the duo, as Harshal Patel has 57 scalps to his name, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders' pacer Shardul Thakur (54).
| Year | Team | Wickets |

| 2020 | Punjab Kings | 20 |
| 2021 | Punjab Kings | 19 |
| 2022 | Gujarat Titans | 20 |
| 2023 | Gujarat Titans | 5* |
Shami has proven to become one of the most potent pacers for India across all formats, but his T20 credentials has gone up further with his recent record. The Titans have made a fantastic start to the season with 2 wins in 2, and their pacers have played a pivotal part in that.
Out of the 15 wickets they have picked so far, 10 wickets have come from the pacers, with Shami picking 5 wickets, followed by Alzarri Joseph (4) and Ireland's Joshua Little (1).

Mohammed Shami has also gone on top of the dot balls chart. The Gujarat pacer has toppled Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mark Wood from the summit. Shami has so far bowled 28 dot balls this season, while the English pacer Wood has managed 26 balls without conceding a single run.
