Chennai Super Kings won their first match of the IPL 2023 season after a 12-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants on Monday (April 3) at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.

The CSK captain MS Dhoni was the focal point in the match and he led this team to win their first match in Chepauk after a wait of 1426 days. The entire stadium hailed their captain supremo as he also reached a significant milestone by scoring 5000 runs in IPL.

And after CSK's fantastic win, Dhoni was seen creating memories for Lucknow Super Giants player Krishnappa Gowtham and his family. The former India captain is known for his down-to-earth nature and is adored for that.

LSG player Krishnappa Gowtham, who himself is an admirer of the CSK captain, wanted the Thala to meet his family, and the Chennai skipper gladly obliged.

Dhoni was seen doing a high-five with Gowtham's daughter, and then captured taking a picture with Gowtham and his family.

Chennai Super Kings lost their opening match against Gujarat Titans but came back strongly to beat the Super Giants from Lucknow. It was a terrific batting performance by the home side as they posted 217 runs after being put into bat by LSG skipper KL Rahul.

Dhoni's army will be taking on five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians in their next match on Saturday (April 8). Both these teams, who are the two most successful franchises in IPL history, occupied the bottom two places of the IPL table in 2022. Chennai finished 9th while Mumbai Indians were rooted at the very bottom of it.

MS Dhoni will be hoping to get the better of Rohit Sharma's team this time as Mumbai have made a stuttering start to their IPL 2023 campaign. MI were badly bruised by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match and the absence of Jasprit Bumrah has been vividly exposed through their bowling performance.
