Mumbai Indians have announced the signing of Sandeep Warrier as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah for IPL 2023 on Friday (March 31).
Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out for the season as the India pacestar is suffering from a back issue. And as his replacement, MI have roped in Sandeep Warrier for INR 50 lakh.

Sandeep Warrier has represented India in 1 T20I match and has played 5 IPL matches in his career. The pacer was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders setup and has also been with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past.
The 31-year-old hails from Kerala but switched his domestic allegiance to Tamil Nadu a couple of seasons back and has performed decently for Tamil Nadu in the most recent seen. The player has played 68 T20 games with 62 wickets to his name.
Warrier was left unsold in the auction but will be donning the Paltans colour now. Mumbai Indians need a better outing this year after finishing 9th in the league table in 2022. They will be taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first match on April 2 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
