Star Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Nitish Rana suffered injury to his left ankle during a practice session on Thursday.
Rana faced KKR's spinner and net bowlers in two separate nets.

Later, he opted for another throwdown session and that is when one of the balls struck him flush on the left ankle. The 29-year-old immediately was on the ground surrounded by the support staff.
As per a report in Sportskeeda, the 29-year-old winced in pain and removed his shoes and socks for treatment to the ankle. The southpaw laid on the pitch for a few minutes and freed himself from the rest of his gears.
The Delhi batter didn’t engage in any more activity, but he remained on the field with all his teammates until the practice session got over.
Rana received more treatment in the dressing room and was spotted leaving the venue with bandage on his left ankle. The batter shrugged off any serious injury on being approached by Sportskeeda.

He has played 91 IPL matches and scored 2181 runs at an average of 27.96 and a strike rate of 134.22.
This is the third high-profile blow suffered by the 2-time champions. KKR captain Shreyas Iyer's back injury has resurfaced and he is likely to miss the entire season of IPL 2023.
New Zealand pace sensation Lockie Ferguson has also suffered a hamstring injury and is likely to miss the first few matches for the Kolkata-based franchise.
Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Rana are understandably the three captaincy options which KKR are exploring in the absence of Iyer.
In the IPL 2023, KKR finished seventh after losing eight of their 14 league matches. They kick off their IPL 2023 campaign against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mohali on April 1.
