IPL 2023: Ahead of the IPL 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Aakash Chopra has made a statement on Shubman Gill and said that he isn't any crowned prince as he has already become the king.
Gill in the last few months has been touted as the successor of 'King' Virat Kohli and with his mind-boggling performance in the IPL 2023, the GT opener has completely made the "Prince' tag his very own.

In one of his Instagram Stories, Kohli himself asked the batting sensation to lead the next generation. Gill is the leading run-scorer in the IPL 2023. The right-hander has scored 851 runs in 16 matches at an average of 60.78 and a strike rate of 156.43.
"This guy (Gill) is batting differently. He is not the crowned prince, he has already become the king. Can he break Kohli's 900-plus season's record? He will have to again score 122 runs for that. He has struck three centuries in his last four innings," said Chopra as quoted by Crictracker.
Gill has smashed three hundreds in his last four outings. He was also GT's leading run-scorer in the Qualifier 1 in Chennai. Chopra has predicted that it would be hard for CSK to stop Gill if he survives in the initial overs.
"The only problem that he has is the law of averages. Other than that, no one can stop this guy. If he can manage the new ball at the start, which he can do, Deepak Chahar is the only threat, but if he manages him, this player will hit again. He is an extremely mighty player."
While GT are aiming for their second consecutive IPL title, CSK are looking to grab their record-equalling fifth IPL trophy.
