IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony: Arijit, Rashmika create heat in Ahmedabad before the opener

The Indian Premier League 2023 commenced with a dazzling opening ceremony on Friday (March 31) at the iconic Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.

Defending champions Gujarat Titans will be taking on Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of the tournament. But before that, the spectators at the stadium witnessed some stunning performances by some of the eminent entertainment personalities across the country.

Arijit mesmerizes Ahmedabad

The Opening Ceremony of IPL 2023 started with Bollywood singer Arijit Singh's performance. The soulful singer sang some of his most soothing and entertaining tracks. His splendid performance mesmerized the spectators and he finished his gig with 'Jeetega India' song from film 83.

Tamannah and Rashmika swivel the crowd

Then it was glamour queen Tamannah Bhatia who stormed the dance floor with the tune of the South Indian songs 'Tam Tam' and 'Oo Antava'. The crowd was in a frenzy when a popular Gujarati track 'Chogada Tara' was played.

"Kem Chho Gujarat Titans, Vanakkam Chennai Super Kings" - this is how Rashmika Mandanna greeted the spectators and then took the dance floor with another stunning performance. Mandanna took the level to another notch when the music played 'Nattu Nattu'. The actress dazzled the platform and rocked the Narendra Modi stadium with the Oscar-winning song from the Telugu film RRR.

Dhoni engrossed in Arijit

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni was spotted sitting at the dugout and enjoying Arijit Singh's live performance. His team will be up against the defending champions Gujarat Titans.

After the performances, BCCI President Roger Binny, secretary Jay Shah and other officials were put on the stage, along with captains of both teams - MS Dhoni (CSK) and Hardik Pandya (GT).

The Gujarat Titans captain put the IPL trophy on the podium and thus officially their defence of the title started in a glittering fashion.
