The Orange Cap race came to a conclusion as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season reached business end with only two teams left in the race for the coveted title.
Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians battled in the high intense playoffs with several players were fighting for individual awards in the form of the Orange Cap and the Purple Cap.

The Orange Cap is awarded to the player, who finishes the season as the highest run-getter across the season. And this has been a traditional practice since the inception of the IPL in 2008.
GT opener Shubman Gill has pipped Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf Du Plessis in the Orange Cap race and became the youngest player to win the award. There were a few players that also made ground in the top 10 during the playoffs.
