PBKS vs MI, IPL 2023: 4 Bowlers Who Will Take Most Wickets In Today's Match

PBKS vs MI: Punjab Kings (PBKS) take on Mumbai Indians (MI) at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Wednesday. The action will kickstart from 7:30 PM IST. Punjab are placed fifth in the ten-team IPL 2023 table with five wins in nine matches.

As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the second time in the IPL 2023, let's have a look at four bowlers who can take most wickets in the match.

Arshdeep Singh: The Punjab Kings pacer is the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the IPL 2023. He has picked 15 wickets at an average of 19.66 and an economy rate of 8.93.

In the match against Mumbai earlier this season, the left-arm pacer picked four wickets for 29 runs. He broke two stumps on two deliveries in the final over to hand Punjab a 13-run win. He has played five matches and picked seven wickets against MI at an average of 21.42 and an economy rate of 8.33.

Sam Curran: The Punjab pacer has picked seven wickets at an average of 43.42 and an economy rate of 9.54. He can prove to be useful against a Mumbai batting unit which has two very talented southpaws in Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma.

Sam Curran failed to pick any wicket in the three overs he bowled against Mumbai for 41 runs in the first match between the two sides earlier this season. Overall, Curran has picked five wickets from five matches against Mumbai at an average of 31.40 and an economy rate of 10.46.

Jofra Archer: The Mumbai Indians pacer was steaming in at great pace in the side's last match against Rajasthan Royals, however, he could pick just one wicket for 35 runs in the match.

Overall, he has played just three matches in this season and picked two wickets at an average of 55 and an economy rate of 9.16. Archer has played seven matches against Punjab and picked eight wickets at an average of 27.62 and an economy rate of 7.98. By the look of his pace and intensity in the last match, Archer looked close to giving his best this season.

Piyush Chawla: Eyes will be on leg-spinner Piyush Chawla again. He is the leading wicket-taker for his side currently. The 34-year-old has picked 13 wickets at an average of 17.38 and an economy of 7.29.

In MI's last match against RR, Chawla picked the wickets of Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal. Overall, he has played 15 matches against Punjab and picked 17 wickets at an average of 23.29 and an economy rate of 8.08.
