The IPL 2023 has come to a conclusion in the early hours of Tuesday (May 30). It has been a riveting season which ended up with Chennai Super Kings winning the trophy for the 5th time in their history.
A terrific IPL season this year had all the ingredients to be an unpredictable one. Since the very first day, this season has been a whirlwind of emotions and has tumbled record after records. Today we shall keep an eye on the records which were broken in IPL 2023.

This season witnessed the most 200+ scores in a single season.

Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal scored fifty in just 13 balls against the Kolkata Knight Riders. This is the quickest half-century in IPL history.
Rajat Patidar (112*) still holds the record for highest score by an uncapped player in an IPL playoff match. The RCB batter scored a hundred against LSG last season. But Gujarat Titans batter Sai Sudharsan has occupied the 2nd spot as he scored 96 runs off 47 balls against Chennai Super Kings in the final.
Sudharsan also became the 2nd youngest player to score an IPL playoff fifty in IPL at the age of 21 years 226 days.

Wriddhiman Saha for GT against CSK in the IPL 2023 Final, at the age of 38 years 217 days.
GT batter Shubman Gill scored 30 or more runs in 13 occasions this season, the most by a player in an IPL season. He beat the record of Virat Kohli (12) in IPL 2016 and Kane Williamson (12) in IPL 2018.
The IPL 2023 also saw 12 centuries, which is at least four more than any previous IPL season. GT batter Shubman Gill scored 3 centuries, whereas RCB's Virat Kohli had 2 centuries to his name as well.
1124 sixes were hit in this IPL season, the most in any season of the Indian Premier League.
CSK captain MS Dhoni became the first player to complete 250 IPL appearances. The 41-year-old has played for Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Supergiant during his IPL career.

IPL 2023 also witnessed 8 successful chases of scores 200 or more, which is at least 5 more than any other seasons.

CSK batter Ambati Rayudu equalled Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma with most IPL Final wins. They both have 6 wins to their names. Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and MS Dhoni have 5 IPL final wins.
