Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has been fined for his comments on the lack of consistency of umpiring decisions in the IPL 2023.
Ashwin was at odds with the umpiring decisions made in RR's thrilling win over CSK on Wednesday (April 12). The change of the ball without the bowling team's asking baffled Ashwin and he questioned on the fairness of the call.

"I'm quite surprised the umpires changed the ball for dew on their own. It's never happened before and I'm quite surprised," Ashwin said with an element of disgust after Rajasthan's victory.
"Some of the decisions in this year's IPL on the field have left me a little flummoxed, to be honest. It left me flummoxed in a good or bad way because what you need is a little bit of balance," he added.
But his comments have now earned him a fine as the Royals player was sanctioned a 25 per cent fine of his match fee for the comments against the umpires. Ashwin is reportedly admitted to the level 1 Offence under Article 2.7 of IPL's Code of Conduct.
Ashwin has been outstanding for the Royals this season. He has picked up 6 wickets so far and was the player of the match in their win over CSK. Rajasthan currently sit at the top of IPL 2023 table with 6 points after four matches.
