IPL 2023: RCB duo Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis first pair to achieve 400 runs this year

RCB have had a fantastic batting outing in this edition of the Indian Premier League so far. The Bangalore outfit has managed to amass lofty totals in almost all of their games.

And the reason of their upsurge in batting is the rich form of their openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Kohli and Du Plessis have been superb at the top and have provided RCB with a spectacular start in most of their matches.

Virat Kohli scored 59 and Du Plessis scored 84 runs in the match against Punjab Kings on Thursday. Kohli, in total has amassed 279 runs in this IPL so far, while the Proteas batter has amassed 343 runs.

The duo are the top two highest run-getters in the IPL 2023 to date and have been instrumental in their batting lineup. And on Thursday, the pair have become the first pair to stitch 400+ runs together in this IPL edition.

Faf and Virat have scored 473 runs in partnerships this season in six matches. They started off with a fantastic 148-run partnership in the match against Mumbai Indians, and have continued to dominate the opponent bowlers with their elite batting skills.

Rajasthan Royals openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal are miles behind in the second place, with 283 runs of their own.
