Bengaluru, April 16: It's the first Southern Derby of the season as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 24 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday (April 17).
Faf du Plessis-led RCB will look to carry on the winning momentum following the home win over Delhi Capitals, while Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK will look to bounce back from a home loss to Rajasthan Royals.
In the recent meetings, RCB beat DC by 23 runs at home. RCB rode on a fifty from Virat Kohli to set a target of 175 and later restricted DC to 151 despite a fighting fifty from Manish Pandey thanks to debutant Vyshak Vijaykumar's three-wicket haul.
Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, were handed their second loss of the season by RR, who defended a total of 175 by restricting CSK to 172 for a 3-run win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where MS Dhoni gave the visitors a late scare.
Now, the two Southern rivals will clash for the 31st time in the Indian Premier League. This will also be tenth meeting between RCB and CSK at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
