IPL 2023: Watch- Rohit Sharma stunned by Tushar Deshpande cracker

Rohit Sharma's IPL 2023 woes continued as the Mumbai Indians skipper was stunned by Tushar Deshpande's cracker of a delivery during MI vs CSK at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. The batter, who was dismissed for 21, failed to track an inswinger that beautifully straightened after pitching.

The ball, which pitched on a good length, took his middle stump while Rohit Sharma tried to work the ball toward the leg side as the batter expected it to come in. The opener's dismissal also triggered a top-order collapse despite a good start provided by Sharma and his opening partner Ishan Kishan. From 38/0, half of the side was back in the pavilion by the 10th over with just 76 runs on the board.

Tushar Deshpande's delivery also came after MS Dhoni said a few harsh words to the bowler, criticising his line and length after Sharma took him for runs earlier in the innings. The Indian captain played some good shots during his short stay as well.

However, Rohit Sharma's time as a MI captain has been turbulent in recent times. The batter has scored just 290 runs in the last 16 innings while the team won just four games in that period. The team's other star players in Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have also struggled to score runs this IPL after enduring a slump in the form with the national team.

MI managed to score just 157/8 on the day as other key players in Cameron Green and Tim David also failed to help the team revive. While Rohit's dismissal had bowlers' merit, the rest of the MI batters were at fault for playing rash shots.

Following Kishan's 32, David also spent some time on the crease to score 31 runs but threw away his wicket by dragging a shot to the leg side off Deshpande, who finished with a spell of 2/31. Ravindra Jadeja was pick among CSK bowlers with a spell of 3/28. Santner also had two dismissals, including dangerman Suryakumar Yadav.
