Rajasthan Royals are up against Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 match on Saturday (April 8) at the Barsapara stadium in Guwahati. Royals and Capitals both come into the match with defeats in their previous encounter.
Delhi Capitals need to bounce back as a defeat would mean they have three defeats in a row. Royals, on the other hand, would be hoping to finish their Guwahati home leg on a high. Rajasthan are dealing a big blow as Jos Buttler has been ruled out for a week with a finger injury.
RR playing 11 vs DC: Joe Root, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (C), Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sandeep Sharma
DC playing 11 vs RR: David Warner (C), Prithvi Shaw, Rilee Rossouw, Sarfaraz Khan, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Abhishek Porel, Lalit Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Anrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar
Take a look at four players who can score the most number of runs in the match-
Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR): The Southpaw so far has made decent starts but failed to convert those into big scores. Guwahati has a batting-friendly deck and the 21-year-old would back himself to score big in the Delhi match.
Jaiswal has 612 runs in IPL so far at an average of 24.5. Although he is still at a tender age, consistent performances are needed to elevate himself to the next level.
David Warner (DC): David Warner has batted decently in the first two matches. Although the devastating Warner is missing so far in this IPL, but that is partly down to the circumstances as DC have been losing wickets regularly up front.
Warner has 93 runs in this IPL but his strike rate is around 116, which needs a big boost. His record against the Royals is also pretty decent and the player is tipped to score some big runs again on Saturday.
Sanju Samson (RR): Sanju Samson has been a consistent performer for Rajasthan Royals. The RR captain is in form and looking in fantastic touch with a strike rate of 170 so far in the tournament. He scored 42 off just 25 balls in the last match at the same venue against Punjab, and will be eyeing to replicate and better that as they take on Capitals as well.
Prithvi Shaw (DC): Prithvi Shaw's failure in the first two matches is one of the reasons Delhi's batting has struggled this season. The batter looked out of touch in the first two matches, but has asserted a big score is on the cards. His impressive record against Rajasthan Royals is something to bank on for the DC fans as Shaw aims to restore the form.
