RR vs LSG, IPL 2023: 4 Bowlers Who Will Take Most Wickets In Today's Match

RR vs LSG: In the top-of-the-table clash first-placed Rajasthan Royals (RR) will host second-placed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday, April 19. Rajasthan would be entering the match on the back of three consecutive wins.

Lucknow, on the other hand, lost their last match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by two wickets. Prior to the match, they had defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) respectively. The two teams had reached the playoffs of the IPL 2022 as well.

As the two teams gear up to clash against each other for the first time in the IPL 2023, let's have a look at four bowlers who can take most wickets in the match.

Trent Boult: The left-arm pacer has so far picked six wickets from four IPL 2023 matches at an average of 22.33 and an economy rate of 8.37. He was expensive in his last outing against Gujarat Titans (GT), leaking 46 runs for one wicket.

However, the 33-year-old has the knack of bouncing back in style after a poor outing and left-hand heavy Lucknow Super Giants will be well aware of this. The New Zealand star has played just one match at the venue and picked just one wicket.

He has played two matches against Lucknow and picked four wickets at an economy of six and a strike rate of 12. Eyes will be on the lanky pacer on Wednesday.

Ravichandran Ashwin: The guile of Ravichandran Ashwin can play a major role in the match tomorrow. The off-spinner has so far picked six wickets in five matches at an average of 23.16 and an economy rate of 6.95.

The 36-year-old went wicket-less for the first time this season in the match against Gujarat. Ashwin has played five matches at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and picked four matches at an average of 28.50 and an economy rate of 7.60.

Ashwin has an excellent record against the left-handers and his matchups against Nicholas Pooran, Krunal Pandya, and Quinton de Kock (if he plays) would be intriguing.

Mark Wood: The England pacer is the leading wicket-taker of the ongoing season and eyes will be on him once again. Wood has played a total of four matches this season and picked 11 wickets at an average of 11.81 and an economy of 8.12.

In this last match against Punjab Kings, the express pacer picked two wickets for 35 runs - the joint-highest by anyone in his team. Wood's battle against his England white-ball captain Jos Buttler would grab a lot of eyeballs.

Ravi Bishnoi: The leg-sinner has shown tremendous form this season and he would be a key bowler to watchout for in the RR vs LSG clash on Wednesday. So far, he has picked eight wickets in five matches at an average of 16.50 and an economy rate of 7.13.

Bishnoi represents Rajasthan in the domestic circuit and he has a lot of experience of playing in Jaipur.
