Shikhar Dhawan continued his merry ride in IPL 2023 with another well-constructed knock against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday (May 8).
The Punjab Kings captain opened the batting and gave his team a decent start. He played some exquisite shots and got to his third fifty of this season. The veteran southpaw managed 57 runs off 47 balls before getting held out at Long On in the bowling of KKR skipper Nitish Rana.

But with his fantastic half-century, Shikhar Dhawan has found himself with some elite company in the IPL achievement diaries.
Shikhar Dhawan scored his 50th half-century in IPL on Monday. The Punjab Kings captain has amassed 6592 runs in his IPL career in 213 innings, and has racked up 50 half-centuries to his name. Dhawan also has 2 IPL centuries as well.
This season, the veteran southpaw scored his 3rd fifty of this season on Monday.
Dhawan also became only the third player to score 50 IPL fifties - Delhi Capitals captain David Warner and Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Virat Kohli are the other two players with the same achievement.
Virat Kohli also has 50 fifties in his IPL career, and the Australian batter leads the IPL leaderboard with 58 fifties to his name.
